Arcanoid Side Guns takes the classic brick-breaking formula and throws it into the middle of a space battle. You're not just bouncing a ball around — you're commanding a starship that needs to dismantle barrier formations above while simultaneously fending off enemy vessels closing in from the sides. It's a two-front fight that keeps your hands busy and your brain sharp from the very first level.
Move your ship left and right along the bottom of the screen to deflect the ball upward into the brick formations overhead. Your goal is to break through every brick layer before running out of lives. At the same time, hostile ships will approach from the left and right edges of the screen — use your side guns to shoot them down before they reach you. Collect power-ups dropped by destroyed bricks or enemies to boost your firepower, expand your paddle, or gain extra balls. Keyboard arrow keys or mouse movement typically controls your ship, with a separate key or click handling your lateral weapons.
Don't ignore the sides. Enemy ships might seem like a secondary concern, but letting too many through will drain your lives faster than a missed ball. Keep one eye on the flanks at all times, especially in later stages when enemies appear more frequently and move faster.
Prioritize power-ups that expand your ship or add extra balls — these give you more margin for error when juggling both threats at once. A wider paddle makes it significantly easier to multitask between shooting sideways and keeping the ball in play.
Aim your ball toward the edges of brick clusters rather than dead center. Clearing a path along the walls lets the ball ricochet into harder-to-reach bricks automatically, freeing you up to handle incoming enemies.
